Prince Albert police seized two firearms, bear spray, marijuana, $650 in Canadian cash, and items consistent with drug trafficking after searching a vehicle parked on the 500 block of 27th Street East.

Officers also arrested and charged a 27-year-old man with dangerous driving, evading police, possessing marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, and multiple firearms offences. The man made his first court appearance in Prince Albert on Monday.

Officers arrested the suspect inside a nearby residence without incident.

Police tried to pull the vehicle over at around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday in the Second Avenue and 15th Street West area. Officers say the driver did not stop, and instead evaded police by heading south on Second Avenue West.

The officers did not pursue the vehicle out of public safety concerns. They located the vehicle parked outside the residence later than night.
