Police look for car invasion suspect and respond to assault

Suspect on the loose after car invasion

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) is looking for a man who broke into a vehicle and stole a purse on Friday afternoon.

At about 4:12 p.m., police attended the call on the 100 block of 12th Street East, near the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library.

The suspect had smashed out a window to get inside.

Surveillance footage revealed the accused as 26-year-old Ivan Ballantyne from Prince Albert.

He’s now wanted for theft under $5,000 and willful damage under $5,000.

Woman assaulted after break-and-enter

Prince Albert police have charged a woman with assault after an incident Sunday morning.

Patrol was dispatched to a house on the 2900 block of 4th Avenue East at about 11:20 a.m., where they found two females in a physical altercation.

A news release said one of them broke into the other’s home and started assaulting her.

They arrested the accused 47-year-old woman, who faced these charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday.
