The Prince Albert Police Service has confirmed it is investigating a reported kidnapping and forcible confinement case.

A series of social media posts allege that a Prince Albert man got in a taxi and woke up locked in a room where he could hear little girls screaming. The man alleges that he was strong enough to escape, but that others are being held.

A video posted to Facebook shows the man knocking on doors and calling for help.

“Please, somebody help me,” he can be heard saying.

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) confirmed that just after 5 a.m. Monday morning, they responded to a complaint of an unknown man in the Unit Block of 28th Street West yelling for help.

Officers spoke with the man, who gave a statement that has led to a forcible confinement investigation.

Police have seen the video, and have received many concerns for the public. At this time, all PAPS will say is that an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.

The man declined immediate comment but indicated he may comment at a later date.
