Police identify suspect in first homicide of 2018

Prince Albert police have identified a suspect in the city’s first homicide of the year.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Tyrone Nontell, 32, in the shooting death of Tyrell Bird. Nontell is wanted for second-degree murder.

Bird was shot on June 28 in an alley in the 200 Block of Ninth Street East. He was rushed to hospital on life support, dying on July 2 from injuries sustained in the shooting.
Nontell is described as about five-foot-ten with a medium build.
