Police charge 37-year-old with arson after fire on 15th Street West shuts down traffic

The Prince Albert Police Service has charged a 37-year-old man with arson with disregard for human life after investigating a fire that occurred in the 200 Block of 15th Street West on Thursday.

Police were called to the scene at around 6:50 a.m. on Thursday following reports of a structure fire. Officers arrived with members of the Prince Albert Fire Department shortly after. Officers found and arrested a male suspect a few hours later

A 36-year-old woman escaped from the burning residence and was assessed by Parkland Ambulance.

Police temporarily closed eastbound and westbound traffic lanes on 15th Street East during the fire. The restrictions were lifted just before 5 p.m.
