Police arrest impaired driver in Cornerstone area

The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested a 21-year-old man on Monday for driving impaired.

At about 10:43 p.m., officers responded to the Cornerstone shopping district.

They conducted a traffic stop after locating the vehicle driving northbound on 6th Avenue East.

Patrol noticed signs of impairment in the driver and he failed an Approved Screening Device (ASD), as well as breathalyzer tests after they took him into custody.

He’s charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding .08.

The suspect has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
