Ugly Sweater was the theme of the theme of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) annual New Year’s celebrations going into 2026.

Celebrations began with a Hot Chocolate fountain and face painting, with music by Northwind.

Roast beef supper was served to a capacity crowd early in the evening.

Horse and sleigh rides were available throughout the evening and people were invited to “bring your jigging shoes and fancy moves,” for the dance part of the evening.

“Donny Parenteau and his band entertained throughout the evening, and for the dance,” according to Chief Tammy Cook-Searson.

The evening was interspersed by prize giving, which included the children.

The evening ended with fireworks lighting up the sky after midnight.
