A Mont Nebo woman is Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire after winning more than $1.2 million in a Vault Breaker jackpot prize.
Joan Pelletier of Mont Nebo said she was shocked when she realized she won. The win occurred at the Shell Lake Hotel on July 18.
“I was happy, excited, and very overwhelmed,” Pelletier said in a press release. “Someone shouted, ‘You got all five [Vault Breaker Icons]!’ I said, ‘Holy cow, what did I win?’”
Vault Breakers is a wide-area progressive jackpost that links 4,200 VLTs located in more than 560 sites across Saskatchewan. The province-wide jackpot has been awarded 53 times since July 2017.
With Pelletier’s win, the jackpot has been reset to $500,000.
Pelletier said has already started thinking about how to spend her $1.2 million prize.
“Well, I’d love to buy a house and get married,” she said. “I’m going to pay some bills and after that, maybe take my kids on a trip.”
