The Lake Country Co-op held a showcasing event at the Prince Albert Food Store in sponsorship of the Monsters and Mayhem on Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
“Monsters and Mayhem is coming to Prince Albert this weekend for the first time ever,” said Brittney Rosenberg, director of marketing and community relations for the Lake Country Co-op. “People come and view the trucks up close and meet the drivers and we’re also doing samples of our new products.”
The RAM Monsters and Mayhem event is an outdoor monster truck and motorsports touring show featuring massive jumps, car-crushes, and modified trucks.
The grocery store parking lot was crawling with families and children who were excited to see the 12 feet high vehicles as well as mini monster trucks that were approximately 6.5 feet tall.
“It’s pretty awesome. It’s something different that came to our city and it’s really cool,” said Rosenberg. “We got to support the local events in our community and make them a success and we’re really proud to bring this family-focused event to Prince Albert and help them put it on.”
Kristal Carey, driver of the ‘Sabotage Monster Truck’, said she is excited about the show.
“I’m originally from North Battleford, so I’m in my home province and came here from Ontario,” she said. “I’ve been driving truck for about five years now and I’m excited about the show.”
She added that it’s her first time driving for the company.
“They’ve obviously had a lot of success over the summer in Western Canada, so they do a lot of outdoor shows, big jumps, big air, with a lot of the local talent and drivers around here. It’s great to be a part of it for sure,” said Carey.
The Monsters and Mayhem show will be held at the Prince Albert Exhibition grounds on Aug. 15 and Aug. 16, with tickets on sale through their Outlaws of Motorsports Website.
