A man was scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday for charges related to a Friday weapons incident.
The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) conducted a vehicle stop on the 700 block of 17th Street West at approximately 5:20 a.m.
According to a news release, officers saw an axe and a crowbar in the back of the vehicle when they approached it.
They were arresting a female passenger on outstanding warrants when another male passenger tried to run away.
He was apprehended, although he initially resisted arrest.
The 29-year-old suspect is charged with resisting an officer engaged in lawful execution of duty, obstruction of a peace officer, possession of a purpose of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) and attempting to take their firearm without the consent of an officer.
