Male arrested after armed robbery investigation

One male has been arrested after an investigation into an armed robbery in Prince Albert.

According to the Prince Albert Police Service. on March 29 at approximately 5:50 p.m. police responded to a business in the 400 block of 15th Street East for a report of an armed robbery.

Upon police arrival, officers learned no one had been physically injured as a result of this incident.

Further investigation determined two unknown males entered the business when one of the males allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded money. The suspects then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Just over an hour later while patrolling the area near the South Hill Mall, officers located a male matching the description of the suspect who brandished the firearm. The male was arrested without further incident and upon a search of his person, a firearm was located and seized.

The area was checked for the second suspect; however, officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description. A 26-year-old man has now been charged with armed robbery and disguise with intent.
