NORTH — The Northern Village of Île-à-la-Crosse has announced the candidates for its upcoming by-election and confirmed details for advance voting.

According to the public notice nominations have closed for the March 11 by-election. Three candidates seeking a councillor seat on village council are Rodney Belanger, Carmen Corrigal and Anthony Hodgson.

Advance polls have been scheduled for voters who believe they will be unable to cast a ballot on by-election day it said in the notice.

Advance voting will take place Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Île-à-la-Crosse Communications Society Inc. boardroom (ICSI), Parcel K – Lajeunesse Avenue.

The notice is dated Feb. 6, 2026, and signed by returning officer Donny Favel.

Residents are encouraged to ensure they are eligible to vote and to take advantage of advance polls if they are unable to attend on March 11.
