With the Saskatchewan Roughriders set to allow fans to tailgate before home games in 2026, we now know what that will look like.
And it begins with a lottery.
From now until Mar. 5 at midnight, season ticket holders can enter a lottery to secure a tailgate spot in the parking lot outside of Mosaic Stadium before Roughrider home games in 2026. While it is free to enter the random-draw lottery, a tailgate space will cost $500 for the season and will provide two parking spots — one for a vehicle and one for a tailgate set up. Single-game tailgate spots won’t be sold and if applicable, a home playoff tailgate spot would be provided at no cost.
Tailgaters will be permitted to bring their own food and alcohol into their tailgate party, to be prepared and served within their designated space. While tailgate lottery winners will be the ones allowed to set up their space, the area itself will be open to the public by foot. The Roughriders said the full regulations are still being finalized in coordination with the province.
After provincial legislation was introduced to allow tailgating, the 2026 CFL season will mark the first time football fans in Saskatchewan will get to experience the pre-game festivities which are popular in many other markets north and south of the border.
Season ticket holders can enter the lottery by logging into their account and according to the Roughriders, season tickets remain available. A Roughriders representative will contact select tailgate lottery winners in April.
