It was a tough finish to the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge for Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Kaiden Guhle.

Guhle and his Canada Red teammates came out on the losing end of a 4-3 shootout affair to Sweden Saturday in a bronze medal game in Saint John, N.B.

Lucas Raymond had the only goal in the shootout for Sweden, while goaltender Jesper Wallstedt stopped all five Canada Red shooters to put his team on the podium.

Daniel Ljungman, Zion Nybeck and Elliot Ekmark scored in regulation for Sweden, while Jake Murray, William Dufour and Jacob Perrault countered for Canada Red.

Guhle, who served as the captain for his team, finished the tournament with three assists in six games.

Russia captured their fourth gold medal Saturday night as they defeated Finland by a score of 2-1.
