The Prince Albert Police Service has made four arrests after a series of armed robberies and attempted carjackings in Prince Albert and area.
According to police between August 29 and Sept. 4 the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) responded to 10 reported armed robberies and attempted carjackings within the city. Two additional incidents occurred in RCMP jurisdiction during this same timeframe.
Following an intensive investigation led by the Proactive Policing Unit, with assistance from multiple PAPS sections and support from the RCMP, four individuals have been arrested and charged in relation to four of these investigations.
“These recent incidents have had a significant impact on the sense of safety in our community. I want to acknowledge the resiliency and professionalism of our police service as work was done to console victims, gather vital information from witnesses, and bring forward those responsible for these crimes,” Chief Patrick Nogier said in a release.
“Activities of this nature will not be tolerated in Prince Albert. Our Service remains steadfast in ensuring that residents feel safe and secure, and we will continue to pursue those who seek to disrupt our community with the full weight of the law. Those who choose to engage in violence and intimidation will be held accountable.”
Those charged include Jordan Kerfoot, who is 28-years-old has 32 charges including Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Firearms Offences, Disguise with Intent, and Breach of Probation. 26-year-old Scott McCallum has28 charges including Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Discharging a Firearm with Intent, Firearms Offences, Disguise with Intent, and Breach of Undertaking.
Mary Rose Daigneault is Charged and remanded on firearms-related offences; additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues and 26-year-old William Charles Hunt has been charged and remanded on firearms-related offences; additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
At this stage, charges have been laid in four Prince Albert files connected to three carjacking-style robberies and one aggravated assault investigation in which a firearm was discharged at a victim. RCMP have also laid charges in one related robbery investigation.
Investigators continue to actively review evidence from other reported robberies to determine links to these accused persons and to identify any other individuals who may have been involved.
