The Prince Albert Police Service Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (PACTSS) carried out a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon where they seized firearms and implemented multiple firearm-related charges.
Police said an officer conducted a traffic stop on Aug. 25 at approximately 1:19 p.m in the 3000 block of 2nd Avenue West. Police said there were five occupants in the vehicle, including three women and two men.
Police said officers determined the two male passengers had outstanding warrants, which led to their arrests, and the driver was found to be unlicensed and to be impaired by cocaine.
Police said the driver received a roadside suspension and the vehicle has been impounded for three days.
Upon further investigation, officers said authorities seized three firearms, ammunition, and one knife.
Police said all five individuals have been charged with 22 firearm-related offences each and have made their first appearances in the Prince Albert Provincial Court Wednesday morning.
