With temperatures plummeting to -51 on Family Day, the Town of La Ronge postponed their celebratory events to Thursday, Feb. 20.

Family members gathered at the Mel Hegland Arena to enjoy some tacos, learn about face painting, try their hand at artwork and listen to some music.

Darryenne Parada offered lessons in face painting, which drew a large crowd, while others enjoyed some live music and still others tried their hand at creating some artwork.

The theme for the events, which was originally planned as two separate events for Family Day, was support of the Canadian Challenge Dog Sled Races, which were in the La Ronge area throughout the week.
