The City of Prince Albert has opened submissions for its new City of Parks and City of Arts Design Contest.
City of Prince Albert Arts and Culture Coordinator Tia Furstenberg said the goal is to highlight Prince Albert’s identity as both a hub for the arts, and a leader in green space. She said Prince Albert has the highest percentage of parkland in Canada, and a thriving and diverse arts scene.
“We’re looking for designs that reflect the pride, beauty, and creativity that define Prince Albert,” Furstenberg said in a press release. “Whether inspired by our natural landscapes or vibrant arts scene, this contest is a great opportunity for artists to help shape how we share our story.”
The contest is open to Saskatchewan-based visual artists and graphic designers who submit original work. Two winning designs will be selected—one for City of Parks and one for City of Arts. The winning artist will receive a $500 honorarium.
Furstenberg said the chosen designs will be featured on merchandise, including decals, magnets, and more, to promote civic pride.
The deadline to submit is June 16 at 5 p.m. For more information about submitting, email tfurstenberg@citypa.com, or call 306-953-4825.
Only the artists of the two selected designs will be contacted.
