RCMP have charged three suspects in relation to a firearms dispute on Saturday that started at Montreal Lake Cree Nation and ended north of Prince Albert.
It resulted in a deceased 25-year-old Trina Bird and a 16-year-old male with non-life threatening injuries.
Wesley Eugene Lachance, 41, is charged with flight from police, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm while prohibited and three breaches of probation orders.
Brandon Lee Corrigal, 19, is charged with flight from police, possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and attempted break, enter and commit indictable offence.
Jeremy Wade Charles is charged with possession of a firearm while prohibited and breach of a probation order.
A news release said these charges stem from the events that occurred on Highway 2 near the turnoff to Christopher Lake.
RCMP also released more details on what happened.
After Lachance and Corrigal allegedly fled from police to a nearby wooded area, officers conducted CPR on Bird until EMS arrived.
Once paramedics were there, they turned their efforts to locating the men with the help of police dogs.
A Post Mortem examination was conducted in Saskatoon on Monday to determine the cause of Bird’s death.
The Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section is also looking into the suspect vehicle and residence at Montreal Lake Cree Nation.
