Charges laid after incident on Diefenbaker Bridge Saturday

The Prince Albert Police Service have charged an 18-year-old man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, and possession of stolen property over $5,000 in relation to an incident on Saturday morning.

According to a release just after 10:30 a.m., officers observed a vehicle travelling south into the city at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle continued onto the Diefenbaker Bridge, where the vehicle collided with another car and then lost control.

The vehicle came to a stop on the grass just over the bridge, in the 1400 Block of Second Avenue West.

The driver was taken into custody at the scene. There were no injuries.
