The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce on Nov. 17 presented $5,000 to the three recipients of the 2025 Young Entrepreneur Bursary on Nov. 17.

Each recipient also received a complimentary membership to the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, recognizing their entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to building small business in the province.

“We had over 50 applicants from the community of Prince Albert and these candidates all provided applications that were quite extensive and stated whatever they will be using them for if they receive the funds,” Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce CEO Patty Hughes said. “These were all evaluated by a third party that took a look at every application from across Saskatchewan.

The bursary was made possible through the Ministry of Trade and Export, Government of Saskatchewan. The recipients were recognized during a short ceremony at the chamber’s Prince Albert office.

The three recipients are Acacia Carleton of Acacia Blossom Beauty Spa, Yetunde Lawal of Gabby’s Beauty Supplies, and Kirk Pilon of Pilon Homes.

The bursaries were part of the provincial government’s attempt to support small businesses and young entrepreneurs in the province. Each young entrepreneur received their bursary directly from the Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce. This is the first year the bursaries have been handed out.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Acacia, Yetunde, and Kirk as they take bold steps in their entrepreneurial journeys,” said Hughes. “Supporting young entrepreneurs is vital to the growth and innovation of our local economy, and we are grateful to the Saskatchewan Government and the Ministry of Trade and Export for making this bursary possible.”

The event was attended by Kevin Kasun, MLA for Prince Albert Carlton, who represented the Government of Saskatchewan and highlighted the province’s ongoing support for small business and entrepreneurship.

In a press release, the Chamber said the bursaries help foster entrepreneurship and strengthen small businesses across the province.
