Northern Bears break for Christmas second in league standings with a perfect road record
The Prince Albert Northern Bears are in a favourable position heading into the Christmas break.
With only three losses in their first 17 games of the season the Northern Bears are currently tied for second place in the SFMAAAHL and sit four points behind the league-leading Saskatoon Stars.
“We’ve had the opportunity to play everybody in our league so far, so it’s nice to know that we can compete with everyone and be competitive against them,” Northern Bears head coach Jeff Willoughby said.
“Just being consistent I think has a lot to do with how much success we’ve had so far. And attempting to play a 60-minute game I think goes a long way too in being able to win or lose a lot of those close games. I think we’ve been able to do those two things.”
The team’s final practice of 2016 was held on Wednesday, Dec. 21. The players will reconvene on Jan. 2.
