Break and enter, stolen vehicle calls lead to several charges

In roughly 24 hours, from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning, Prince Albert police responded to 121 calls. Two of them were a suspected break and enter and a stolen vehicle.

At about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to the 1200 block of Branion Drive–near St. Catherine Catholic School–for a break and enter.

They arrested a man riding a bike. After investigating further, they found a loaded sawed-off rifle, an unloaded firearm, a scale, some cash, ammunition, baggies, methamphetamine and two cellphones.

The 25-year-old is facing 20 charges and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

At about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, police conducted a vehicle stop on the 700 block of 18th Street West after spotting a stolen car that was reported over the weekend.

A 19-year-old man was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning facing charges for possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from police, resisting arrest and breach of court orders.
