A La Baie Métis Local 21 elects new leadership slate

A LA BAIE — Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Northern Region 3 board member Brennan Merasty congratulated the newly elected leadership of A La Baie Métis Local 21 following the Feb. 11 election.

“On behalf of Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Northern Region 3 we extend our sincere congratulations to all those elected following the February 11, 2026 election,” Merasty wrote in a social media post. 

“Your willingness to serve and lead is greatly appreciated, and we wish you every success in your roles.”

The elected officials are:

  • President: Nathan Don Favel
  • Vice president (acclaimed): Kevin Garry Raymond
  • Secretary: Dora Evangeline McCallum
  • Treasurer: Maureen Diane Belanger

Board members:

Dwayne Emile Desjarlais

  • Gerry K. Gardiner
  • Hannah Raymond

“We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who stepped forward and let their name stand. Putting your name forward is an act of commitment and service, and your participation strengthens our Local and our democratic process,” said Merasty.

Merasty added that a town hall and official swearing-in ceremony are coming on April 8, and encouraged residents to stay tuned for more details.
