35 arrested in gang suppression initiative

A three-week gang suppression initiative by the Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) and the RCMP has resulted in the arrest of 35 people suspected to have ties to local gangs.

It consisted of increasing patrol, curfew checks and vehicle stops of known offenders.

Officers seized four guns and several rounds of ammunition, six cans of bear spray, knives and machetes, three grams of methamphetamine, 10 syringes filled with methamphetamine adding up to 2.5 grams, 122 grams of cocaine, one bottle of GHB and just over $7,000 in cash.
