A member of Prince Albert’s new Community Policing Unit arrested one man and recovered a stolen bike on Monday afternoon.
The officer stopped the 28-year-old man at about 3 p.m. He was riding a bike on the sidewalk in the downtown area, violating a city traffic bylaw.
After investigating further, the officer arrested him on outstanding warrants. Police seized the bike because it was reported as stolen from the La Ronge area in July.
The Community Policing Unit launched last month. It consists of two members who patrol on foot and bike and foster community relationships.
