A search that involved a heavy police presence in and around Prince Albert has come to an end.

The Prince Albert Police Service announced on Aug. 21 that they had taken Jade Ermine into custody.

The 30-year-old was arrested at about 9:30 a.m. after a brief foot chase in the unit block of 13th Street West. He was also the subject of an RCMP search near Prince Albert after an incident on Aug. 20.

The RCMP sent out a press release on Aug. 20 in the evening notifying residents of an “increased police presence.”

Officers began searching for Ermine at about 2 p.m. that afternoon. During that search, an RCMP officer was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Prince Albert Police Service’s most wanted list, Ermine has outstanding charges of fleeing police, possessing stolen property and six counts of breaching a court order.

The city police and RCMP are investigating the most recent incident. The city police said further charges are pending.

Please note: The Prince Albert Police Service originally said Ermine was arrested on 13th Street East and have since corrected it to 13th Street West. The story has been updated.
