Tisdale RCMP is investigating an apparent attempted child abduction that took place Monday.
At 9:30 p.m. on July 30, the Tisdale RCMP received a report of an attempted child abduction. An unknown man driving a white, four-door truck with rust along the bottom allegedly approached two children on 100 Street in Tisdale, offering them candy and a ride home.
The man was described as possibly in his 30s and of a darker complexion, with glasses and short brown hair. There were other passengers in the truck, which is believed to be a Dodge.
The license plate number was not obtained. The pair of girls, aged 6 and 9, declined the offer without incident. Police made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle or identify the individuals involved. The investigation is ongoing.
The Tisdale RCMP is reminding parents and guardians to be vigilant of their children’s whereabouts and safety, and that they know not to accept gifts or rides from strangers or approach within reach of strange vehicles.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Tisdale RCMP at 306-878-3810 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
