Intoxication and disturbance calls kept the Prince Albert police busy this weekend, wherein they responded to nearly 350 service calls between Friday evening and Monday morning.
Police clocked a vehicle travelling 110 km/h in a 40 km/hr zone on Saturday around 9:40 p.m. The driver received a $1000 ticket and a seven-day impoundment. The speeding occurred in the 900 block on 7 Street East.
During the afternoon on Saturday, police also responded to an assault complaint in the 900 block on River Street West. A woman was repeatedly hit on the head with a brick during an altercation with another woman at the same residence. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
In the morning on Saturday, police charged a 23-year-old man with allegedly breaking and entering causing mischief. The suspect is known to the complainants and it was his second time breaking down the door and illegally entering the suite. He appeared in court Monday.
Officers made 60 arrests in total over the weekend.
