The Crown agreed to release a local man facing multiple charges for an alleged sexual offence against a child.
Elias Turner, 24, is charged with sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and sexual assault. He allegedly molested a minor sometime between March 26 and April 10 of this year, and invited them to touch his penis.
According to the Crown, the minor was born in 2004, making them either 12 or 13 at the time of the alleged offence.
Turner appeared on video in Prince Albert’s provincial courthouse Tuesday morning. The Crown consented to his interim release under what prosecutor Gail Douglas called “strict conditions.”
He must reside at his sister’s address under an 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew and cannot have any contact with children under the age of 16, except under the supervision of his sister. The Crown confirmed that the sister does have children herself.
“She knows all those charges,” Douglas said, noting that Turner does not have much of a record.
