A man was arrested after allegedly breaking into the Sacred Heard Cathedral last week.
Police responded to an alarm call from the cathedral last Friday at about 2:30 a.m. and found that one of the glass doors had been broken.
Upon entering, they found a 27-year-old man inside the church and arrested him without incident.
Police media liaison Sgt. Travis Willie wasn’t sure what prompted the man to break into the church. There was no record of him having any property in his possession at the time of the arrest, Sgt. Willie said.
The man has been charged with breaking and entering and will appear in court on March 7.
