Two men thought they could escape police early Tuesday morning, but they couldn’t evade Police Service Dog (PSD) Daxa.
Shortly after 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers on patrol observed a dark coloured Honda Civic travelling north on the 2800 block of Sixth Avenue East.
According to a media release, radar clocked the vehicle travelling at 87 km/h.
Patrol officers turned on emergency lights and sirens and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle evaded police, and officers did not chase the vehicle due to its high speed and a concern for public safety.
The suspect vehicle, tough, was located a short time later on Boulevard Drive. Two men were fleeing the vehicle on foot.
At that point, a containment was set up and PSD Daxa was sent in to track the suspects.
They were located in the 400 Block of 10 Street East and taken into custody.
