17-year-old charged with aggravated assault after stabbing incident Tuesday

A 17-year-old girl was arrested and charged in connection to a stabbing early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to a parking lot in the 2900 block of 2nd Avenue West regarding a male victim who had sustained injuries from a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officer located a 38-year-old man in a vehicle with injuries consistent with a stabbing. The victim received medial attention and transported to hospital and is now in stable condition.

Through their investigation, officers learned the victim had given a female suspent a ride to a hotel in the 100 block of Marquis Road. During the ride, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife and attacked the victim. The suspect fled into the hotel while the victim drove away.

Officers located a female matching the suspect’s description in the 100 block of Marquis Road. She was arrested without further incident.

The 17-year-old female is now facing charges of aggravated assault, obstructing a police officer and failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking. She was also arrested on outstanding warrants.

She is scheduled to make her first court appearance Friday morning.
