Police seize knife, arrest robbery suspects Saturday

Two Prince Albert men are facing robbery charges after allegedly threatening a woman over her beer.

On Saturday at 6 p.m., patrol members attended to the 600 Block of Marquis Road for a robbery that had just occurred.

The victim said an unknown man approached her with his face hidden and threatened her if she did not give him her beer.

She gave the suspect her beer, and he fled in a nearby vehicle. The victim saw another man enter the vehicle with the suspect.

The victim was not physically injured, and no weapon was pulled out by the suspect.

Officers found the vehicle a short time later parked and unoccupied at a multiplex in the 1400 Block of 28 Street East. They investigated and arrested two men who matched the description of the suspects.

An 18-year-old is charged with robbery, committing an indictable offence while having his face masked and breaching a court order.

A 20-year-old is charged with robbery and committing an offence while having his face masked.

Both were due for a first appearance in court Monday.

Police seize large serrated knife

Officers seized a large, yellow, serrated blade after responding to a weapons complaint early Saturday morning.

At about 2:30 a.m., officers attended to the area of Fourth Avenue West and 22nd Street West for a complaint of a man waving a machete around.

When the police arrived, they found the suspect walking in the 300 Block of 22nd Street West.

He was arrested and a large knife was found in his waistband.

A 25-year-old Prince Albert man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering a threat.

He is due for his first court appearance on April 10.
